Dashboards and data visualisation

Dashboards are increasingly becoming used to summarise and display information in easy to understand, informative and appealing ways. ESS assists clients to design their own dashboards, each of which may be customised to combine selected key metrics, data visualisations (charts, graphs, maps, calendars etc.), and navigation controls in one centralised location.

These dashboards work by aggregating and displaying data from various sources in a visually intuitive format. In most cases, the data driving each ESS dashboard is taken directly from the client's customised content management system, meaning all elements of the dashboard are 'live', presenting data in real-time.

The design of each dashboard is curated for the audience that will be viewing or interacting with it. This mean it will combine and present the data that a selected audience needs to see, in the most intuitive way possible for that audience. The versatility of dashboards means that they can be used for a variety of purposes, including communication and reporting; monitoring and evaluation; analysis and decision making; project and contract management; and  education and knowledge transfer (among others).

Overall, customised dashboards implemented and driven through an ESS system are powerful tools for enhancing data visibility, decision-making, and operational efficiency, which standard 'back-end' databases do not possess.

Key features:

  • Summarise and display information in easy to understand, informative and appealing ways.
  • Aggregate and display data from various sources in one centralised location.
  • Enhance usability and user efficiency by combining selected key metrics, data visualisations (charts, graphs, maps, calendars etc.), and navigation controls according to the needs of specific audiences.
