Butchulla Aboriginal Corporation - Business development and capacity building

Butchulla Aboriginal Corporation (BAC) represent the Native Title interests of Butchulla people, who are the traditional custodians of K’gari (formerly known as Fraser Island). As part of this role, BAC are pursuing business development through the establishment of Butchulla Enterprises Limited (BEL), which will operate an emerging cultural tourism business as well as an established land, sea and cultural heritage management program. 

BAC and BEL have sought the business development and management expertise of ESS, which has involved the delivery of a range of activities, including:

  • General business mentoring and support for staff at all levels, including Directors and general managers
  • Implementation of a tailored business information management system that enables project coordination, work planning and scheduling, financial management, HR, and internal and external reporting 
  • Direct assistance to manage the delivery of major projects
  • Negotiations and partnership building with local and regional stakeholders (including government departments and the local industry partners)
